Henderson County, part of the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, has been a popular vacation destination for well over a century. The area is rich in cultural, historic, and natural resources, including historic sites, museums, recreational facilities, and attractions, including: Connemara, National Historic Site and home place of American poet, Carl Sandburg; Flat Rock Playhouse; Biltmore Estate; NC Arboretum; the Blue Ridge Parkway; Pisgah National Forest; and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (45 minutes).
